Humana Plan G offers similar coverage to Plan F. The only difference between the two plans is that Plan F covers the Medicare Part B deductible while Humana Plan G does not.

Enrolling in Humana Medicare Supplement Plan G

You can apply for Medicare Supplement Insurance at any time of the year. The best time to apply for Plan G, however, is during your Medigap Open Enrollment Period or during any other time you have guaranteed issue rights.

Your Medigap Open Enrollment period begins the month you are at least 65 years old and enrolled in Medicare Part B, and it lasts for six months.

During this time, you have guaranteed issue rights. That means insurance companies like Humana are not allowed to use medical underwriting to determine your plan premiums.

But if you wait to enroll outside of this protected window, you no longer have guaranteed issue rights and insurance companies reserve the right to perform physical exams and issue medical questionnaires that can dictate your rate.
